Always use hashtags
Instagram hashtags are clickable tags made up of words, numbers, or the underscore "_". When you publish a post with a hashtag on Instagram, it gets into the "base" of other posts with this hashtag. So if a person wants to find a lash artist, he/she may just use a hashtag #lashartistnewyork, for example, and choose!
Hashtags are essentially Instagram's sorting process. With around 95 million photos posted on Instagram every day, it's difficult for Instagram to efficiently deliver the right content to the right people. Hashtags help your post get discovered by most interested people.
Thirty hashtags are the maximum number you can use. You can hide your hashtags in a comment. Instagram doesn't distinguish between caption hashtags and comment hashtags.
Instagram hashtags can be divided into three groups by their frequency of use:
- High-frequency hashtags are used all the time: starting from 100 thousand posts and more. For example, #lashartist #lashextensions #lashes…
- Medium-frequency hashtags can be found in 50 thousand posts and up to 100 thousand posts. Such hashtags are more specific than high-frequency ones. For example, #lashartisteducation #lashesnottinghan #lashesnewyork…
- Low-frequency hashtags are used for less than 50 thousand posts: #lashesny #lashartprp #whitelashes…Such hashtags attract the most specific requests, making it easier for clients to find you among the myriad of Instagram posts.
